Save the Children is committed to support the Government of Rwanda to fulfil its obligation towards the realization of the rights of girls and boys with and without disabilities. Floods are a recurrent problem in the east African country of Burundi. The country’s topography and the absence of proper roads and drainage infrastructure means residents of the city of Bujumbura have to flee their homes almost every rainy season.

In Burundi in April 2020, entire villages west of the city of Bujumbura were overwhelmed by water, after days of torrential rains caused rivers and lakes to burst their banks.
